A Stiff-Necked People

And the Lord said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:
Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

– Exodus 32: 9-10 (KJV)

The adjective “stiff-necked” was coined by William Tyndale for his 1526 translation of the Acts of the Apostles (7: 51), but the phrase “stiffnecked people” (sans hyphen) first appears here, and it will be applied again and again to the obstreperous Israelites.

Their necks are called “stiff” because they won’t bend to God’s will, in this case his commandment against graven images. As he sees the Israelites eat, drink, and make merry in the company of their new golden god, Yahweh cuts short his conference with Moses and vows to wipe out the entire crew.

But Moses defends his people, despite God’s offer to make a “great nation” of his progeny. He argues that Israel’s destruction will only comfort Yahweh’s Egyptian enemies and reminds him of his promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Lord listens to reason and “repents” of “the evil which he thought to do unto his people” (Exodus 32: 14).

But Moses is almost as angry with his people as Yahweh was. When he witnesses their vile behavior with his own two eyes, he flies into a rage, smashing the two tablets on which God had inscribed the Ten Commandments — thus symbolically breaking the whole of the covenant his stiff-necked people partly violated in the golden calf incident.

Then, as his anger “waxe[s] hot” (verse 19), Moses seizes the golden bull and tosses it in a fire, which seems to char rather than melt it, since Moses then grinds it into powder. Mixing the powder with water, he forces the sinning Israelites to drink the potion, which I expect made them thoroughly sick.

Even this, however, isn’t enough for Moses. Calling out to the camp, he demands to know who is with the Lord and who is against him. Only the priestly tribe of Levi pledges their allegiance, and when they have gathered around, Moses orders them to “slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor” (verse 27), which they promptly do. Three thousand Israelites die.

As a reward, Moses confers Yahweh’s blessing upon the Levites and then returns to Mount Sinai. There, Yahweh promises to send an “Angel” before the people so that they’ll have no further use for idols. But he also vows to be revenged upon any future stiff-necked sinners. He won’t have long to wait.

ten years with solution for viruses and none care to help uncover. 6 years with solution to energy crisis with no greenhouse gases with 2 FULL years now after actual experiment built by own hands to prove the point. after begging friends to video experiment and place on net freely-it is now two full years and nothing but ridicule and abuse- there were some positive notes of comments from good hearted persons-but thats it- just nice comments- they do nothing to help uncover- and thus- how mankind has many problems in society- for even the good ones ignore each other during times of peace and stability.

after one whole year of professing messenger of god to no avail I am coming close to concluding the stiff necked people are exactly the same since day one- for not even the highly spiritual ones are any help- one full year within all spiritual groups to find no help to uncover- man does not trust one another- i dont blame many for all the crooks in society- and so it is- the few percentage that harden the majority to be untrusting- i wonder if ww3 must be fought over ENERGY before Cain and Able become brothers and discover the solution to energy right under their noses

so when does life start? when sperm and egg come together on a level even simple viruses airborne or not can exists for thousands of years? or at a level too deep in understanding even in the year 2009 for man to comprehend- maybe three parts- one from mom and dad- and something from the breath of life itself via GOD- we come and we go- over and over in the universe- this earth is exactly like an amusement park ride within an amusement park itself- the earth is a ride in which is a function of free will as the eyes of our roots watch everything with arms waiting when ride finished- remember- you are still within the amusement park- the universe itself with infinite possibilities- have faith- the greatest test of strength and growth for the greatest entities of the this universe- YOU are part of this- repent in order to rejoice- Christ is king- be the Christ in your own life to put a smile on gods face

Several months ago i predicted an energy awareness will transform citizens into the importance of finding new methods to obtain energy and or conserve the precious commodity in light of energy crisis, i predicted the winter fuel costs would have put the icing on the cake and thus friends and passer bys would be helpful in uncovering my science and experiments for at this moment all just look on passively and or insult for no productive reason. As usual I am far too complimenting in peoples willingness to change, it seems an additional season of true electricity usage must occur during economic collapse for people to understand, for the winter use of fuels other than electric heating are oil and natural gas predominately in usa and thus my conclusion was skewed as our home suffers with electric baseboard heat in which i hear of the ills every winter by my father and uncle next door. The hot months have arrived early and there is no way around cooling oneself but with PURE ELECTRICITY- period- thus- during this economic collapse many will want to run their electric air conditioners and thus feel the pinch, and of course all commercial buildings hospitals and schools etc. maybe after this round of money drainage will fellow citizens become our brothers keeper in uncovering the real and only solution to global energy crisis-Lightning Fusion - think about this when you are cool and comfortable

Concerning Truth and Justice in Science and What We Know About Science

May 14, 2006 was the second anniversary of Gene Mallove’s death. June 13, 2006 also marked an important day. It was the 175th anniversary of the birth of James Clerk Maxwell. Although disagreements about subtleties in James Clerk Maxwell’s work have been published in this magazine, no one disagrees about the importance and impact of his theory. The disagreements about subtleties in his work seem to reflect an unfortunate set of circumstances, involving the press and misrepresentations about cold fusion that have aggravated communication between mainstream scientists about the field and have also hindered meaningful debate between individuals involved with the field and individuals who are not aware of what has transpired. These circumstances—compounded by the press and by Time Magazine in particular—appear to be at the heart of the lack of meaningful discourse and confusion.

Similar confusion seems to be evolving, now, about new areas of work in cold fusion, where a new form of electronic press appears to be taking root. Whether or not this new form of press actually will help to uncover the truth, in the immediate future, is an open question. However, as in anything involving science, eventually I do think that the truth will come out. What will be remembered about what we do know about the relevant science hopefully will follow. It is my guess, as with past situations, that this will take time. But the process, as it relates to getting out all of the facts in cold fusion, probably will be painful; more about this later. . .

It is entirely appropriate to thank all of the authors who have contributed to this issue of Infinite Energy and to acknowledge their creativity. In the end, it is only through truly creative thinking that ideas, like the ones presented here, can come to the forefront. Although it is not obvious at all if any of these ideas come close to the truly great ideas formulated by James Clerk Maxwell, Nikola Tesla, and Albert Einstein, only by attempting to be creative can anyone aspire to accomplish the kinds of things that these great thinkers did accomplish. Any attempt to follow in the footsteps of such great people should be commended.
